Festival of North Carolina Dance
The Festival of North Carolina Dance is held on the UNCSA campus, over a weekend in February, with classes for approximately 450 students from dance schools and companies across North Carolina. Classes include ballet technique, contemporary technique, pointe, jazz, hip-hop, improvisation, character, and ballet repertory. The weekend concludes with a performance at the historic Stevens Center. Companies who perform have had their works adjudicated and selected for this concert.
Each January, Triangle Youth Ballet submits choreography for adjudication by the Festival Chair.
The last weekend in February our company takes part in the classes and educational opportunities. If our choreography is chosen, our dancers have the opportunity to present their work Sunday evening in the at UNC School of the Arts Steven’s Center.
