FALL 2020

Reasons why we feel we can safely get back in the studio
Mainly because of the behavior we saw in June and July. The dancers who were on site exhibited extreme care and caution and followed all the protocols. Also, the contacts that our students have are greatly reduced because the school systems have transitioned to online schools. As you remember, we paused all in person group classes in August as the UNC students came back into town. And while that caused a crazy spike due to behavior choices, the university has since sent them home. The general population of our town is less at risk, and we are not open to the general public. While at TYB, classes will be held with open doors, fans on, and masks on.
Studio 1 will be limited to 10 dancers which allows each dancer 126 square feet for social distancing, including the teacher. Studio 3 will be limited to 6 dancers which allows each dancer 94 square feet for social distancing, including the teacher.

Our hybrid plan for Stage Two and Three
Each class level will meet at least twice a week. One will be online and the other will be onsite, offered with limited enrollment for social distancing. The studio class will be zoomed simultaneously for dancers who cannot make it to TYB. Stage Three C dancers have the option to take ballet 3 times per week.
**twice weekly class is required for these levels and one of those classes must be the Zoom option**
Dress Code
During Zoom classes, our school dress code is suspended with any color/style leotard permissible. But we do require appropriate leg wear and shoes as well as neat and tidy hair. However we are going to slowly move back into class leotard colors as has been the case for each level during the year.
Stage Two A- light blue
Stage Two B- royal blue
Stage Three A- lilac
Stage Three B- purple
Stage Three C- jade
Stage Three C and Up- any black leotard
Make Up Policy
Any missed class can be made up in an online class. This is to limit the exposure potential to our dancers.

Our hybrid plan for our more advanced dancers
To limit the number of contacts you have, we would like to organize you into a pod that will operate as a single unit for the first quarter (and maybe longer). You would choose the pod that fits your schedule and come to those classes for three 2-hour classes per week. We will also have online options to fulfill your 6-hour minimum ballet technique requirements. *Pod placement is currently reserved for returning members of the TYB companies. |
